Leadership Retreats FAQ

WHAT MAKES OUR LEADERSHIP RETREAT VALUABLE?

What makes this different from other types of gatherings? A retreat isn't a retreat without four elements:

  • separation (you must leave something behind);

  • intent (you must seek something beyond relaxation);

  • whole-person engagement (your mind, heart, and body must participate); and

  • narrative shape (you meander through openings, spiral into deeper questions, and ultimately explode into new patterns of seeing).

These elements distinguish a true retreat from its imposters.

Our setting on the East Scottish coast with the option of accommodation type at your choosing gives you the perfect blend of coaching, discovery and retreat.

WHAT RETREATS ARE AVAILABLE?

Individual Retreats and small group retreats are for one or two people.

Group Retreats for leadership and C-Suite teams can be arranged for up to eight people.

HOW LONG DOES A RETREAT LAST?

All Unmuted retreats are bespoke to your needs. That could be EQ and Leadership, Communication, Presentation or taking time out to plan communication or change-management strategy for your organisation away from the distractions and pressures of being physically in or close to your business.

For individuals travelling from outside Scotland, we suggest day one travelling, days two to four, depending on individual coaching requirements, a mixture of theoretical and practical learning in one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland.

WHAT DOES A BESPOKE RETREAT LOOK LIKE?

Your leadership retreat starts with a phone consultation to determine your needs, aims and expectations.

I will craft a bespoke retreat that is tailored to your objectives. We will blend coaching sessions in both indoor and outdoor settings. These settings will inspire creative thinking, reflection, introspection, provide challenge and clarity.

The local hotels, cafes and restaurants will cater for our lunches, and you are free to choose how to spend you evenings.

if you wish to incorporate specific activities into your time with us, please make sure to mention this during your consultation.

WHAT IF I LIVE IN SCOTLAND?

If you are based in Scotland, the coaching days can be split over a number of days, depending on your geographical location.

WHAT ABOUT ACCOMMODATION?

Where you wish to stay is completely down to personal choice and budget.. You may choose to stay at one of our recommended local bed and breakfast or Air B&B partners. There are options to stay at comfortable budget hotels in Dundee or if you enjoy four/five-star luxury, a game of golf or leisure time in a spa, you may choose The Gleneagles Hotel, The Fairmont Hotel in St Andrews, The Carnoustie Golf Hotel and Spa or The Lands of Loyal Hotel in Alyth.

Accommodation can be arranged for larger groups if required.

WHAT ABOUT TRANSPORT LINKS TO YOUR RETREAT?

If you are flying  to Dundee, Aberdeen, Edinburgh or Glasgow, we recommend car hire.

If you are travelling by train to Dundee or Arbroath, we will be delighted to meet you when you arrive.

Travelling to the outdoor destinations is organised by Unmuted as are all lunch arrangements, depending on your dietary requirements.

IF I'M ATTENDING A 1-2-1 CAN I BRING MY PARTNER OR FAMILY?

Yes, absolutely. You can bring your partner, your family, a friend and the family pet. Your companion will be free to do what they wish during the day while you further enhance your skills and abilities, while you enjoy their company in the evening.

We will help you plan your visit from start to finish.
